In this role you will support the tech core of Data & Analytics – our Data Platform, where we gather information from diverse sources, transform and normalize them to build a single point of truth, and provide various tools for implementing data analytics use cases.

Together we set the standards of tomorrow - your tasks
- Collaborate with Data Analysts and other stakeholders to understand their requirements for Data Platform and deliver solid data solutions according to their needs
- Integrate new data sources of various nature to the Data Platform using Databricks and AWS
- Design data models to support business needs at scale
- Develop and maintain complex, production-grade SQL pipelines in dbt
- Ensure data quality by implementing automated testing and data quality monitoring and alerting
- Manage data protection and security policies to safeguard sensitive data
- Participate in the maintenance of the Data Platform, ensuring adherence to the SLAs
- Continuously re-evaluate our Data Platform against industry best practices and new technologies to ensure Fielmann analytics stack remains best-in-class
You inspire us - your profile
- University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar
- At least 3 years of experience in Data & Analytics and at least 2 years of experience as Data Engineer or Analytics Engineer
- Extensive experience with developing new data integrations from various sources (RDBMS, APIs, Kafka, etc)
- Proven experience of building complex data models in Data Warehousing context according to best practices
- Hands-on experience with cloud Data Warehousing solutions, ideally Databricks
- Excellent command of SQL for data processing pipelines and experience with dbt
- Fluency in python
- Expertise in working with the AWS environment
- Knowledge of development best practices i.e. related to testing, CI/CD, documentation, etc.
- Understanding of data governance, data protection and data security principles and best practices
- Not required but a plus: Terraform, GitHub Actions, Power BI, BW/4HANA, basic knowledge in machine learning
- fluent English speaking skills, German is a plus
- Team player and good communication skills
- Driven to create technical solutions that work for our business
- Highly structured way of thinking and attention to details
- Inherent curiosity to understand the processes and the underlying reasons behind them, seeking to uncover insights and asking probing questions
- Ability to work autonomously, managing priorities and ensuring timely delivery on commitments
